According to the official Information Bulletin, the RIMCEE-2026 Stage-I written examination will be conducted on 6 December 2026. The Stage-II Viva Voce is tentatively scheduled for April 2027, approximately 4–6 weeks after the declaration of the Stage-I result.

Application Fee
- General / Wards of Defence Personnel & Ex-Servicemen / OBC-NCL: ₹1,000

- Late Fee: ₹500
Parents should be particularly careful about the OBC-NCL category, because the bulletin specifies that the candidate’s caste/community must be included in the Central List of OBCs. Merely being listed under a State/UT OBC list is not sufficient for selecting OBC-NCL.
RIMC December 2026 Eligibility Criteria
1. Admission is for Class VIII
RIMC starts its academic programme from Class VIII. Therefore, candidates applying for the July 2027 admission should be:
- Studying in Class VII, or
- Have passed Class VII from a recognised school.
2. RIMC Age Limit for December 2026 Exam
This is one of the most important points for parents.
For the December 2026 RIMCEE, the candidate must be between 12½ years and 14 years of age as on 1 July 2027.
The eligible Date of Birth range is:
2 July 2013 to 1 January 2015 – both dates inclusive
This examination will lead to admission for the July 2027 term.
Parents should verify the DOB carefully before filling the application because the RIMC notification makes eligibility subject to verification at later stages.
RIMC December 2026 Exam Pattern
The RIMCEE Stage-I examination consists of three subjects:
| Subject | Type | Questions | Marks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| English | Descriptive | 45 | 125 | 2 Hours |

| Mathematics | Descriptive | 30 | 200 | 1 Hour 30 Minutes |
| Total | 150 | 400 | 4 Hours 30 Minutes |
There is no negative marking.
The Mathematics and English papers are descriptive and pen-and-paper based, while General Knowledge is objective/MCQ based.
The exam is bilingual in English and Hindi, except for the English Language section.
A very important point for students
The minimum qualifying requirement mentioned in the bulletin is 50% of the total marks in each subject.
Therefore, students should not prepare only one or two subjects. English, Mathematics and GK—each needs focused preparation.

The candidate has to provide a valid government-approved identity proof. The application screenshots in Appendix IV also show the identity-verification process, including Aadhaar-based verification and alternative identification options for candidates who do not have Aadhaar.
The bulletin also states that APAAR ID integration is optional. Not providing APAAR ID does not affect eligibility or processing of the application.
RIMC Selection Process 2026
Getting a good score in the written examination is only the first step.
The selection process is:
Stage-I → Written Examination
↓
Stage-II → Viva Voce
↓
Stage-III → Medical Examination
↓
Final Merit & Admission
Candidates must qualify the stages separately.
The Viva Voce carries 50 marks, and candidates need to obtain 50% marks to qualify the interview. The interview is designed to assess intelligence, personality and communication skills.
After qualifying the written examination and Viva Voce, candidates in the medical call-up list undergo medical examination at selected Military/Air Force/Navy Hospitals.

RIMC Admission: Boys and Girls
The new Information Bulletin clearly provides for both boys and girls.
For boys, the merit is prepared separately on a State/UT-wise basis, while a consolidated All India Merit List is also generated.

RIMC December 2026 Preparation –
RIMCEE Stage-I examination 6 December 2026 को है।
Phase 1 – Syllabus Completion
Phase 2 – Practice
Topic-wise questions और RIMC-level questions solve करें।
Phase 3 – Previous Year Papers
Previous Year Questions से examination का actual difficulty level और question pattern समझें।
Phase 4 – Mock Tests
Phase 5 – Revision
StudyBox Doon – RIMC Preparation
